Grove Park Inn in Asheville Set to Celebrate 100th

The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina will celebrate her 100th anniversary in 2013 and some pretty big goings-on are in store for one of the nation's most acclaimed resorts. First of all, KSL Capital Partners, which acquired The Grove Park Inn earlier this year, is investing $25 million dollars in a restoration and renovation of the Grand Dame to welcome the new era. With guest room refurbishment, updated and refreshed corridors, restoration of the Great Hall, a new retail corridor, a high-energy lounge in the Sammons Wing and lots of additional outdoor lounging spaces and decks, the renovation will honor the legacy and the historic style of the hotel while enhancing the guest experience into the future.

Secondly, lots of new entertainment and activities are planned for their centennial year. Their arts series already has confirmed performances by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and the Glenn Miller Orchestra, a jazz weekend featuring jazz guitarist and composer Pat Methany and John Pizzarelli, a comedy weekend headlined by Caroline Rhea, and more.

Capitalizing on the property's long-standing commitment to the culinary arts, the Grove Park Inn will host The Centennial Celebrity Chef Summer Series featuring guest celebrity chefs, farm tours with the Inn's chefs, book signings, and retro inspired menus created from the inn's original 1913 courses.

A host of health and wellness events are planned for 2013 at the inn's 43,000-square-foot subterranean spa. Unique spa treatments, health and wellness consultations, nationally acclaimed wellness authors and teachers, as well as spa cuisine cooking demos are all planned, as well as more adventurous health and wellness options including guided rafting, ziplining, hiking and mountain biking through the inn's satellite location of Nantahala Outdoor Center.

And if you are turning 100 in 2013, The Grove Park Inn will extend you two nights complimentary accommodations including breakfast and dinner to celebrate. And even is you're not turning 100, you can celebrate The Grove Park Inn with their Once in a Lifetime Centennial package which includes a limited-edition resort book and inclusion in their centennial time capsule.

And if you really want to celebrate in style, plan to attend The Grove Park Inn spectacular anniversary bash over the 4th of July weekend, including dinner for 200, mountain music, fireworks and a national headliner concert.

A year long anniversary celebration that will be enjoyed for years to come. Sounds like quite the party!
