Pinehurst to Welcome Automotive Celebration
Pinehurst, North Carolina, the birthplace of golf in the U.S., will be adding a new hole to its tourism belt and crowning a different kind of champion next Spring. The inaugural Pinehurst Concours d'Elegance will take place May 2-5, 2013 and will combine the world-class amenities of Pinehurst Resort with some of the greatest vehicles ever created.
The Pinehurst Concours d'Elegance was created and developed by Dean Kessel, an avid auto enthusiast and 20-plus year motorsports marketing veteran, and has been nearly two years in the making. Four days of events are planned and will offer an experience at the iconic resort that will be a "must-attend" for all automotive enthusiasts.
From an Aerodrome Party at Moore County Regional Airport to a road rally from Pinehurst to Fort Bragg, to a collector car auction, and a "Heroes" Gala evening event to benefit and honor the men and women of the military from nearby Fort Bragg, the inaugural event will feature over 150 of the most historic automobiles and motorcycles from around the world, culminating with the crowning of a "Best of Show" for automobiles.
There are tons of other things to do at Pinehurst during the event such as exploring the Village of Pinehurst, golfing at one of their eight golf courses, including the famed Pinehurst No. 2 course, shopping, dining and enjoying all of the Southern hospitality that Pinehurst is known for.
Many plans are underway for the Pinehurst Concours d' Elegance and many announcements will be forthcoming in the months ahead including featured marque, Grand Marshal, auction details, corporate partnerships, ticketing and special event information. Be sure to check back regularly to their website for all the latest information.
