As the wedding season approaches, we've found a gorgeous location to consider for that special day. Old Edwards Inn and Spa in Highlands, North Carolina has completed their renovation of The Farm at Old Edwards and the new addition is as stunning as any bride.
The Barn's slate-floored Function Terrace has been enclosed by a stunning architectural pavilion featuring rough-cut wood beams, wrought-iron chandeliers and a glorious 35-foot high glass cupola. Combine these elements to the fully retractable glass panels that make up the exterior, and you've got a panoramic view of the spectacular gardens at The Farm that would provide the perfect photographic backdrop for your wedding or special event.
Nestled in the southwestern plateau of North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains, the Forbes four-star European-style resort sprawls across several blocks in the charming town of Highlands, a cultural mountain village featuring spectacular golf courses, art galleries, boutique shopping, and gourmet dining and culinary events. With a spectacular outdoor heated pool, a world-class spa, delectable dining including Madison's Restaurant and Wine Garden, The Rooftop Terrace, the Spa Cafe, and the Poolside Bar and Bistro, golf at the private Old Edwards Club, luxury accommodations, and a state-of-the-art fitness center, and now the newly renovated farm pavilion, Old Edwards Inn & Spa has everything to make your wedding magical.

Celebrate National Hamburger Month at Carolina Crossroads Restaurants
Hamburgers have gone seriously upscale and uptown lately with celebrity chefs opening artisan burger joints and creating uber-decadent burgers. And since May is National Hamburger Month (about 14 billion burgers are eaten every year in the US alone!), Carolina Crossroads Restaurant at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill has jumped on the bandwagon (or should we say chuckwagon?) and created seven outrageous burgers to celebrate.
Carolina Crossroads Restaurant is one of only four Forbes Four-Star restaurants in North Carolina and a AAA Four Diamond rated restaurant. And executive chef Jimmy Reale has taken the bull by the horns (pun intended) to raise the burger bar beyond his outstanding fine dining cuisine.
His piece de resistance? The Carolina "Sinn" Burger featuring a 10-ounce Kobe Beef Burger stuffed with pan Seared Foie Gras, topped with sauteed Cippolini Onions and Morel Mushrooms in Veal Demi Glace and shaved Oregon Black Truffles alongside hand cut fries, house-made ketchup and truffle aioli.
But if you are more of a traditionalist, consider the Famous Crossroads Hamburger topped with fried pickles, coleslaw and sweet potato fries. Or try the BBQ Burger with smoked Gouda, house-made BBQ sauce and smoked bacon. And if Southern is your thing, the Carolina Inn Burger features a fried egg, pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes.
And we haven't even talked about their Buffalo Burger, Breakfast Burger or the Crossroads Classic. Surely no one will be asking 'Where's the Beef?' at Carolina Crossroads Restaurant.
